Peer Review Process

Jurnal Hukum Islam Azzahro (JHIA) implements a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of the scholarly articles published in the journal.

Every manuscript submitted to the journal will undergo an initial review by the editorial team to evaluate its suitability with the journal's focus and scope as well as compliance with the journal’s author guidelines.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. In the double-blind review process, both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to each other to ensure an objective and unbiased evaluation.

The reviewers will assess the manuscript based on several criteria, including:

  • originality of the research

  • relevance to the journal’s focus and scope

  • methodological rigor

  • clarity of analysis and argumentation

  • contribution to the development of Islamic legal studies

Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the editor will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept submission

  • Revision required

  • Resubmit for review

  • Decline submission

The editorial board is responsible for making the final decision regarding the publication of manuscripts in the journal.
