Author Guidelines

Jurnal Hukum Islam Azzahro (JHIA)

Authors who wish to submit manuscripts to Jurnal Hukum Islam Azzahro (JHIA) must follow the following guidelines to ensure uniformity and academic quality.


1. General Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to JHIA must be original works that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication in other journals.

The manuscript should discuss topics related to Islamic law and its contemporary development, including theoretical and empirical studies.

Manuscripts may be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

All submissions must be made through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) of the journal.


2. Manuscript Length and Format

The manuscript must meet the following format requirements:

  • Length: 6000–8000 words

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Paper size: A4

  • Font: Book Antiqua

  • Line spacing: 1.15

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides


3. Font Size and Layout

The manuscript must follow the following font sizes:

Author Name 12 pt
Author Affiliation 11 pt
Abstract 10 pt
Keywords 10 pt
Main Text 11 pt
References 11 pt

4. Article Structure

Articles must follow the IMRDC structure as follows:

Title

The title should be clear, concise, and reflect the main topic of the study.

Author Information

Include the author's name, institutional affiliation, and email address.

Abstract

The abstract must be written in English and contain 150–250 words describing the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study.

Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords representing the main concepts of the article.

Introduction

This section explains the research background, research problem, research objectives, and significance of the study.

Method

This section describes the research approach, research design, data sources, and data analysis techniques.

Results

This section presents the findings of the research.

Discussion

This section interprets the research findings and connects them with relevant theories or previous studies.

Conclusion

This section summarizes the main findings and contributions of the study.


5. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be clearly numbered and titled.

Example:

Table 1. Distribution of Research Data

Figures must be accompanied by captions and sources if taken from other publications.


6. Citation and References

JHIA uses APA Style (7th Edition) for citations and references.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 20 references

  • At least 80% from journal articles

  • At least 80% from sources published within the last 10 years

Example in reference list:

Rahman, F. (2022). Contemporary Islamic legal thought. Journal of Islamic Studies, 18(2), 123–135.

Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.


7. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts submitted to JHIA will be screened using plagiarism detection software.

The maximum similarity index allowed is 20%, with no more than 5% similarity from a single source.

Manuscripts that exceed this threshold will be rejected.


8. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to JHIA will undergo a double-blind peer review process conducted by at least two reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.


9. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication.

All articles published in JHIA are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).


10. Submission Process

Authors must submit their manuscripts through the OJS submission system by creating an author account and following the submission steps provided on the journal website.
